Journal 3

Although I thought these days were rather ordinary, I’m still grateful for experiencing these stories.

11/14-11/15

After participating in the NSTC Humanities Salon, I was fortunate to join the professor and the team in organizing a lecture at National Kaohsiung Normal University. For me, this was a novel experience, as the event only takes place once a month, and there’s no guarantee to participate every time. Therefore, I truly cherished this opportunity.

On the first day, we had to arrive early to prepare the venue, including setting up the camera and putting up posters. While taking the train south to Kaohsiung, I felt both nervous and excited—I worried about making mistakes or forgetting the workflow upon arrival, but at the same time, I was eager to see what new and interesting things I might encounter and what knowledge I could gain that I wouldn’t usually have access to.

Fortunately, after we arrived, the senior members of the team were very willing to guide us step by step through the preparations. During the process, I came to understand that the most important quality when working is being proactive—taking the initiative to ask questions and to help out. Even as a complete beginner, one can quickly get the hang of things and gain valuable experience by adopting this attitude.

Eventually, the lecture went smoothly, and after it finished, I returned with a wealth of cherished memories. 😊

By the way, since the hotel offered 24-hour access to ice cream, my teammates and I had a lot of it that night. It was such a delightful and delicious experience—it felt like a childhood dream of unlimited ice cream had come true! Haha😄

Dance Art and Body Creativity Course

Dance Profile Photo for the final

This semester, I have choosed a special general education course, which mainly explores the changes in body movements and incorporates a lot of creative content and possibilities of the body. Although I often lose some of the fun because I have trouble letting go, since dance is an interest I enjoy, the content taught in this class always sparks my curiosity and helps me stay focused on absorbing the knowledge.

I’m really happy that I was willing to step out of my comfort zone and try something I’m not necessarily professional at, but still have an interest in. The fun I gained along the way feels more important than anything else.

I will miss you,

the curry rice at Erwei Fushima (二尾伏島)

Thanks to Ariel and my senior’s recommendation, one day I suddenly had a strong craving for the curry rice at Erwei Fushima (二尾伏島), so I made plans with Ariel to fulfill this wish. Since it’s a pet-friendly restaurant, there were plenty of dog accessories inside, and we got to see cute dogs walking around. After tasting the curry rice, I finally understood why it was recommended—it truly is the best curry rice in Minxiong! The flavor is rich but not too salty, and paired with white rice and baked bread, it’s just perfect. The only small flaw is that the sauce could have been a bit more, but that’s a minor detail. Overall, the meal was satisfying, nutritious, and healthy.

What’s disappointing is that we found out recently that the restaurant is going through a transformation and will no longer serve curry rice. Such a pity. 😢😢

I will be glad if you share your thoughts.❤️
